We were the very first guests of this delightful property, and very lucky we were too. The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly - after a wet weather walk they let us use their tumble dryer which was a life saver. Breakfast in the morning was terrific and in general the accommodation was excellent (very comfy beds!). Comes highly recommended!
Bonfire Hill Reforge Retreat @ Upcott, Black Torrington EX21 5QH, UK – 07825 187746
We have just returned from our second amazing trip to Reforge Retreat. We decided to go again after we enjoyed it so much last summer. This time we went for my birthday and there were 17 adults and 16 kids! Faith and Jules could not have been more welcoming and hospitable even though we were a very large group. They have put a lot of time and effort into the site since last year and it now has better bathroom facilities and the most incredible, oldest little Inn right on site. Perfect for after the kids have gone to bed. Jules is a great barman and the place is so quirky it feels as though you have actually travelled back in time. The site is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches this time of year and it really allows you to feel switched off from the world for a while. Thank you so much for putting up with us Faith and Jules - we will be back.
Brilliant small friendly camp site. We took glamping tent with firepit so had great BBQ.

East Lake Farm, East Chilla, Beaworthy EX21 5XF, UK – 01409 221323
We were here for two weeks in July 2013, in Spring Lake Cottage! There were 6 of us and 2 dogs, the house was plenty big enough for all of us even with the dogs we never got under each others feet, and the house is lush, with en-suite and family bathrooms, a huge living area and kitchen, it is also very equipped!! There is a fishing lake % minutes down the track by foot which a beautiful and peaceful place to be stocking carp, Rudd, roach and a few other species. There is loads of places to go around the area, two lovely pubs down the road which serve food and have a carvery, one of which allows dogs! Again it is a great holiday location and have/will recommended it to several people!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
Hole Lane, Beaworthy,, Highampton, Beaworthy EX21 5JH, UK – 01409 231266
My boyfriend and I were looking for a good campsite for a small get away. I love the fact its adults only so you have no kids screaming and 6am. Greg was welcoming and liz is a great cook. We were on pitch 25 or the Blair witch project. The other campers are great friendly can not fault them at all. Thanks again for the amazing few days. Definitely be going back
I just watched the Hole Station camper's video and it's brilliant - hope to meet some of these people in the future; really made me smile. I've just stayed there for 11 days in glade 11 and I was blown away at how at home I felt in the woods. Peace and Quiet eh? It's one of the most raucous places I've ever been! One night, when I had no fire the Crows, Rooks and Jackdaws came into the trees above me and beat the branches with their wings until it sounded like a hurricane. Only one of the marvels, whilst I was there. Here you will find hospitality and guidance of the best kind; I have new skills!. The most comfortable camp I've ever had, facilities wise.

We enjoyed a lovely couple of days in the log cabin here. Simple and peaceful, with a beautiful location at the end of a long track looking across gently undulating Valleys. The farm owners are helpful and friendly and I would happily recommend this place to anyone.
